Multi Crew Pilot Licence (MPL)

The Multi Pilot license embraces modern training methods, utilising state of the art technology within a multicrew environment to train ab initio pilots from zero flying experience through to base training on type in full cooperation with an airline partner.

The MPL Training programme is based on a competency system of learning with competency being defined as a combination of skills, knowledge and attitude required to perform a task to the prescribed standard.

Oxford Aviation Academy and partner airlines have defined the competencies needed to be an airline pilot and constructed a course that progressively achieves these. Thus, each lesson explicitly contributes to attaining competencies, and the assessment system that the instructors use to assess your progress revolves around the competencies.

MPL cadet schemes arise periodically and are advertised on our home page whenever an application is open.

The Skills Assessment ensures we can identify before they embark upon training those who are highly likely to succeed during the training course and subsequent aircraft type training. Assessment takes place over two days at our Centre for Career Development, using methodologies and tools specifically developed and validated to meet airline needs.

Although it might initially sound daunting, the whole process is actually quite enjoyable, and it also enables potential students to have a closer look at us as a training provider and to meet both staff and students in the day-to-day working environment.
