ATPL Theory - Full Time Classroom Based Learning

Oxford Aviation Academy has produced comprehensive study material for the JAA ATPL. Our books and CBT software are used by Flight Training Organisations (FTOs) around the world. However, these are only part of an innovative training system.

All courses are supported by Computer Aided Instruction (CAI). CAI is an instructor-led, computer-based classroom teaching aid. Designed and developed entirely by OAA staff, the system uses photo-realistic diagrams, digitised photographs and 3-D models, all built-up and animated on screen, to assist you in learning and retention of difficult and complex subjects. Developed over several years, the system has proved highly successful, and has been purchased by other European FTOs for their own ATPL ground school training.

The first phase of theoretical training takes 13 weeks and is followed by internal OAA examinations which thoroughly prepare you for the first of the official JAR exams - the first 7 of which follow immediately thereafter.

After a short break, you complete the 9 week second phase followed by the remaining 7 JAA exams - again only after you have refined your skills in the internal OAA tests.

The JAA examinations can be completed at any CAA Examination Centre - Oxford, Gatwick, Silsoe and Glasgow.
