New and enhanced OAA SkillsPlus Guarantee for 2012
November 14th 2011
OAA is pleased to announce a further and significant additional component to our SkillsPlus Programme.
The aim of OAA's SkillsPlus Programme is to provide an innovative set of 3 high quality, 'value add' features to complement our core Airline Pilot Career Programmes - both Integrated ATPL and Multi Crew Pilot's Licence.
- SkillsPlus Assessment A two day process selection process ensuring that we take into training only those students with the core qualities needed to succeed as airline pilots. to succeed in the airline industry.
- SkillsPlus Development Focussed non-flying training which includes: a Foundation Degree in Air Transport Management from Buckinghamshire University plus a two-week safety and commercial skills programme - First Officer Fundamentals.
- SkillsPlus Recruitment Supporting our graduates into airline employment as First Officers through a dedicated Airline Careers Centre and Graduate Services Manager.
For all Airline Pilot Career Programmes enrolling from January 2012, OAA has now added a new and unique 4th feature to the SkillsPlus Programme - SkillsPlus Guarantee.
This new feature provides absolute financial peace of mind for both students and sponsors:
- A fixed 'turnkey' price for the entire programme including all training, equipment and testing components.
- In the event of the need for any form of remedial training and re-testing, these fees and charges (including CAA charges) will be fully covered by OAA within the programme price and no longer passed onto the student.
- In the event that training ceases at any point in the programme (despite receiving remedial training and testing), due to lack of aptitude, the student/sponsor will receive a refund of the costs of training and testing incurred to date.*
This new, innovative, ethical and unique SkillsPlus Guarantee feature now enables OAA Training Managers to make truly independent decisions regarding student performance and necessary remedial training requirements without any concern of placing additional and significant financial burden upon the student (a worry that can accompany them into the air and create additional pressure). Given that a repeat of a single UK CAA Skills Test alone can cost £2,000, this new feature is not only an enhancement to flight safety, but a highly ethical commitment to OAA customers.
