OAA is opening modernised and extended training facilities at our Manchester centre to meet the expanding needs of customers in the region. The first phase of the building and renovation project was completed at the end of June and provided additional facilities including classroom and office space plus a dedicated Cabin Staff training area. This first phase also included an upgrade to the existing centre including a new customer reception area with an extended seating and vending section.
As part of a long-term and wide ranging partnership agreed with Thomas Cook Airlines late last year, the airline will relocate its entire range of Cabin Staff training equipment into phase one of the new facility during July and August. Building on our relationship with Thomas Cook, we look forward to welcoming their Cabin Staff to the facility in the coming months.
Planning permission for the second phase has already been secured and this building could provide further classrooms, briefing rooms, technical areas and two additional simulator bays.
Furthermore, we are in the final stages of negotiating an extended lease up to 2021 with options beyond. This lease term combined with the continued investment in training systems and facilities at the site clearly demonstrates OAA's long term commitment to Manchester and its local customers.
