OAA open day attracts hundreds of prospective pilots
Oxford Aviation Academy (OAA) held its first open day for prospective ab-initio students since the merger of the companies that make up the OAA flight-training group. Over 400 visitors attended the open day at OAA’s dedicated pilot training school at Oxford airport.
During the open day presentation, Anthony Petteford, of the OAA pilot training school explained the course entry pre-requisites for APP First Officer training; the further five phases of the training programme which leads on to qualification for an Airline Transport Pilot’s License (ATPL); and the prospects for career placement following completion of the course. Visitors were then able to inspect the flight school facilities and talk to staff and past OAA alumni.
The OAA pilot training school has an impressive success rate with career placement. Since January 2005, more than 600 OAA graduates have entered airline First Officer employment, equivalent to one new appointment every two days. The APP First Officer training course is backed by OAA’s unique Skills Protection Plan specifically designed to minimise the financial risks traditionally associated with undertaking the commercial pilot training.
Commenting on the open day, Anthony Petteford said, "We were delighted to have such a large turn-out for this latest open day at Oxford airport and the first under our new designation of Oxford Aviation Academy. The high calibre of the prospective students that attended the event demonstrates that OAA’s APP First Officer training provides the premier commercial pilot training scheme and sets the bench mark against which all other schemes for ATPL qualification must be judged".
