Training Centres & Facilities

We operate two residential airline training centres:

Oxford Airport - UK

Our Oxford Aviation Academy Centre at Oxford Airport is very much like a college campus with all of the usual facilities one would expect to find at a university: restaurant, café/bar, shop, internet centres and a professionally run health and fitness centre which includes a well equipped gymnasium, squash courts, football pitches and even a Pilates studio.

Our halls of residence can accommodate up to 164 students in comfortable single study bedrooms.

The airport restaurant provides a full meal service, seven days a week, and also caters for individual specialist needs.  Places of worship for many religions can be found in the local villages or the City of Oxford.

The airport, licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority, has 4 runways, full runway lighting, an Instrument Landing System (ILS), its own NDB/DME instrument approach aids and a full range of Air Traffic Control Services.  Instrument departures and arrivals are conducted under surveillance by local radar.

With a modern, airline style flight operations and flight planning centre, our facilities are comprehensively equipped to provide student pilots with all the necessary tools to help them to learn and complete their training effectively and efficiently using the very latest technology. Wireless internet access is available throughout the training centre as well as hard-wired access points in each individual bedroom.

Phoenix Goodyear Airport - USA

By way of complete contrast to the UK in terms of climate and scenery, our Oxford Aviation Academy Centre at Phoenix Goodyear airport is in the heart of the Arizona desert; 20 miles to the West of the Phoenix Metropolis – taking full advantage of the dry and consistent weather for the key foundation stages of our airline pilot training courses.  Continuity of training is a key characteristic for providing a firm foundation to any training course.

This centre is also a full campus facility designed to enable complete focus upon professional pilot training - with all training and recreational facilities within a 2-minute walk of our halls of residence.  Some of the 102 single study bedrooms even have the thrill of actually overlooking the main airport runway!   The airport, owned by the City of Phoenix is also used by airliner traffic arriving and departing for major maintenance checks for US Airways and FEDEX.  In addition, we have our own private airport at Mobile (15 miles South of Goodyear) which is equipped with an Instrument Landing System (ILS) and used for circuit training and the more advanced stages of instrument approach training.

Our sports and recreational facilities are magnificent with a choice of 2 swimming pools, 4 tennis courts, 2 basketball courts, a volleyball court and a fully equipped weights room.  On the social scene, we have 5 student lounges with satellite TV, a music room equipped with a drum kit and a piano, 2 pool tables, table football and a huge barbeque area which is used regularly for social events around the pool.  Wireless internet access is also available throughout the training centre.
